FUN EVENTS COMING YOUR WAY

Grab your kiddos and their teammates, your family and friends, your colleagues and neighbors for not one but TWO exciting events and opportunities we have in the next few days.

First – join us for our annual LPP Little League Day at this Sunday’s River Cats game – complete with a parade for players! See the attached flyer, and you can also use the link here to get your tickets. The league gets some of these proceeds, too, which benefits our kids big time. As I suggested, grab a group and come on out; it should be a beautiful day for some baseball by the river.

Then, after that fun-filled day with the River Cats, who wants to cook dinner on Monday night? Short answer: NO ONE! We have another Dine Out event this Monday, 4/29, at the Chipotle on Freeport from 5pm-9pm. For every item or meal purchased, the league gets a slice of the proverbial burrito bowl pie, so come on out and help us out — both at the same time. Just show the cashier the flier our league sent out in email or on our Facebook page.

Lastly, if you can’t make it to either of these – we get it! Life is busy. You can still help us out by sharing these with your friends and family on social media. You don’t have to be part of our league to support our league. 🙂

Cheers to LPP!

2024 Challenger Game at Dooley: April 21

We are hosting a really cool and special event at Dooley when we host the Challenger game! If you’re unfamiliar, you’re not alone. Challenger is the Little League division for youth with physical and developmental disabilities. LPP is part of Little League District 7 (D7), and the D7 Challenger Team plays on Sundays at different fields, hosted by different leagues, and next Sunday, April 21, is our turn to welcome Challenger families whose kids – of all ages – play with pure joy and heart and show us all how to have fun on the field no matter what the outcome of a good swing. We need your help with two things:

1. Come out and join us and fill the stands and cheer on these fantastic athletes – we promise you’ll be glad you did.

2. We are also recruiting “baseball buddies” to help the Challenger athletes with a little bit of everything — sometimes the swing, some need pushing to each base in their wheelchair, some just want a little extra nudge of encouragement. Your kids will take part in something so beautiful and rewarding. Baseball buddies must be at least 10 years old and could be current players or could even be LPP alum. We are looking for approximately 10 youth volunteers here, and those families will get 2-4 hours of credit for volunteer hours. Buddies should be at Dooley by 11:30am for a 12pm game time start. Interested youth participants should sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe6rv40tTGgAs61_51fQHFauh8l1xctPwRJIoh1jFUH_mnqzQ/viewform

We hope to see many of you there.
