Thank you to YOU and our 2024 Sponsors!

Thank you for your support!

Opening Day 2024 was a smashing success, and on behalf of the entire Board of Directors — all 24 of us! — we want to say THANK YOU for everyone who showed up, helped out, contributed, cheered on our kids, and supported LPPLL in big and small ways.

We want to give an extra special shout-out also to all of our 2024 sponsors. Check them all out here – complete with links and logos.

Here’s to a terrific season ahead!

Opening Day Plans 2024!

We are now just a few days away from our annual Opening Day festivities (Saturday, March 16), complete this year with a parade, some special visitors, and a tri-tip sandwich special at the snack shack!

By now you should have exact details for your team’s participation from either one of your coaches or your team parent. This email also gives you a broad overview of what to expect.

7-7:30AM: Arrive at our team’s assigned parking spot in Land Park. Team parents have been busy organizing your team’s truck — all decorated with your team’s colors for the neighborhood parade! Your player should be in full uniform but, please, no cleats for the parade or ceremony; wait to put those on for your first game.

8AM: Parade begins. The parade goes from East Park Rd near the Tiny Tots preschool and then turns onto 13th Street. Once the parade is underway, look for LPP board members to guide your team’s truck to its parking spot for the Opening Ceremony. This year we have too many teams to fit every single truck on San Mateo Way, but we have a plan and ask for your support in following our lead. Reminder — no families should be parking their cars at Dooley or on San Mateo Way before 9:45am. Bike parking is available inside the Dooley Fields facility along the road to the snack shack.

8:45AM: Opening ceremonies get underway on Dooley 1. Players will be staged on D2, as directed by board members. They will then be announced while running onto Dooley 1 and lining up as part of the ceremony. No parent who isn’t a coach or board member should be on either field until ceremonies are over.

FOLLOWING THE CEREMONY: Follow the instructions of your team’s coaching staff and our LPP board members to exit the ceremony. Most teams will be released through the side gates or left field gate of Dooley 1, where they can meet up with parents. Please ensure your coach knows you are leaving with your player.

Lastly, please, please, please make sure no trash from your truck or the parade or in general is left along San Mateo Way or anywhere other than in a garbage bin or dumpster. We don’t want our neighbors to think we’re messy! Please do what you can to clean up.

Then….  Let the games begin! Be sure to consult your team’s schedule.

SNACK SHACK:

You should have received our email Sunday night about the $15 tri-trip special. It comes complete with a sandwich, potato salad, and chips. There will be plenty of other and familiar menu options also!

Thank you, and see you all Saturday.

Opportunities to Support LPPLL in 2024

Land Park Pacific Little League isn’t just about home runs and All-Stars; it’s about fostering a sense of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and growth in our young athletes. Behind the scenes, all of that takes dedication, resources, and teamwork to keep our League running smoothly and provide the best experience for our players. This year, we’re embarking on a special fundraising initiative that goes beyond basic operations to something that will leave a lasting impact for generations to come.

As our valued community members, parents, coaches, and supporters, you are the heart and soul of our League. And we need your help to make this season our best one yet, as it will allow us to make investments in the facilities we all love. Our Board of Directors has developed a calendar of events that we hope will bring fun, friendship … and fundraising. Please consider participating in all the ways you can – from sponsoring to dining out to buying an event ticket.

1. Sponsoring – is your company interested in an opportunity be featured front-and-center to thousands of spectators who come to Dooley Field each season? We have a number of opportunities available. But, act quickly, as you will want to have your shiny artwork up by Opening Day, March 16th! Email fundraising@lppll.com for more information.

2. Dining Out – who wants to get out of cooking (especially on a Monday night?!)? We have selected the last Monday night of the month at a local restaurant to host a fundraiser with the proceeds benefitting LPPLL. The upcoming opportunities are:
March 25 from 4pm-9pm: Round Table Pizza on Freeport Blvd.  April 29 from 5pm-9pm: Chipotle on Sutterville and Freeport  May 27 from 4pm-9pm: Mountain Mike’s Pizza on Freeport Blvd.
3. Events – we have a number of fundraising events in April and May that raise money for LPPLL. They are fun for the whole family and are great occasions to get out and meet others in the League. There are still some details being finalized, but please save-the-date for these exciting events, and more details will come. By buying tickets or sponsoring various aspects of the events, you can make a difference.

April 14: Picture Day – Dooley Fields

April 21 @ 11am: A very special Challenger Day @ Dooley Fields (your player age 10+ can volunteer to be a buddy) and we’ll plan a very warm welcome for our visitors and LPP families alike
April 28 at 1:05p Little League Day @ Sacramento Rivercats; get your tickets today: www.rivercatsgroups.com/LPPLL  May 4 @ 6pm: Movie on the Mound @ Dooley Fields – we are elevating it this year!  May 18 @ 8:15am Pancake Breakfast at Dooley FieldsAnd this is just the beginning! We are exploring some other possible events this season for families to enjoy and help the league all the same time so stay tuned. Keep an eye on emails from the League for more information, and your Team Parents are great sources of information (thank you, Team Parents!) You can also reach out directly for questions, or to sponsor, at fundraising@lppll.com.We believe that together, we can create positive change and build a stronger, more vibrant League for our children, and those for generations to come. Let’s rally as a community and show our kids what it means to dream big, work hard, and support one another.

Thank you!

HELP NEEDED This Sunday, 2/25 + Save The Dates!

Thanks to the small handful of people who showed up at Dooley this past Sunday to help with the dugout floors. Check out the attached picture to see how good they look on Dooley 1!

NOW WE NEED MORE HELP this coming Sunday to finish the job on D2 and more. Our work crew will be there at 8AM with donuts and coffee eagerly awaiting additional volunteers – especially now that the forecast finally calls for some sun. Volunteers can bring tools if available but there is absolutely no obligation to do so.

Our league would not run nor would Dooley be as beautiful without our terrific community of volunteer parents, so please join us this Sunday, Feb 25 at starting at 8AM at Dooley. Thank you for your continued support!

Post Season Brackets Are Here!

If the regular Little League season wasn’t enough for you and you still have the itch for more baseball, All Stars are underway for our AA team and TOC’s start this weekend on Saturday, June 17th with the AAA Grizzlies representing Land Park and playing their games at Airport while our Majors Dodgers are playing their tournament at Dooley!

Schedules, locations, and brackets can be found at this handy link on the District 7 Website: https://www.cad7littleleague.com/Default.aspx?tabid=1570578

A few notes on the D7 website: The district refers to the AAA TOC Tournament as Minors (why? we don’t know), Majors is Majors (this makes sense), and AA is called Rookie (again, confusing). Also, not all of the All Star brackets are posted yet so keep checking back for that!

Quick addition: The AAA/Minors bracket has changed a bit and is not yet updated on the D7 website. The LPP team still plays at 10AM on Saturday but we are now playing Oak Park and it’s on Airport King Field. If we win, we play Sunday at 10AM on the same field. Lose and it’s Monday at 5:30

Schedules are out. Opening Day March 25!

Game schedules for T-Ball, Rookie, AA, AAA and Majors are set and are now on our website. Click on the “Schedules” tab above to see the full schedules.

Opening Day is fast approaching! Hopefully this rain will FINALLY stop and it will be time to celebrate our return to baseball on March 25.

Baseball and Softball Registration Open! General Membership Meeting at New Helvetia on November 10!

Registration for baseball and softball has opened! Please follow the registration link at the top of this page to get to our registration site.

Prices are going up just a little this year (approximately 5% from 2022). This increase helps the league offset increasing prices for things like equipment, uniforms, field maintenance, etc. That said, we’re also doubling the sibling discount for families with more than one child in the league (either baseball OR softball). Below is the price breakdown you can expect for registration:

Baseball T-Ball: $105
Baseball Rookie & AA: $160
Baseball AAA, Majors, Juniors: $240
Baseball family volunteer fee: $100 per family (refundable w/ 8 volunteer hours)
Softball Minors (ages 7,8,9, or 10): $150
Softball Majors (ages 10, 11, or 12): $200
Softball family volunteer fee: $50 per family (refundable w/ 8 volunteer hours)
Sibling discount: $50 for each additional child

General Membership Meeting

Every player and parent who is part of LPPLL is considered a member. We are having an Open House style general membership meeting – as is required by our organization’s constitution – coming up on November 10 at 7pm at New Helvetia. We did this last year, and for those of you who came, you know it was a good time. For the most part, it’s a fun social gathering where we can get together with familiar faces normally seen at Dooley and in and around Land Park. At approximately 7:45pm, LPPLL President Carolyn Becker will speak about the upcoming season, including an introduction of our Board of Directors as well as a few important votes that all members can weigh in on. We don’t expect the program to be long – maybe 30 mins.

FALL BALL! Registration Opens Saturday, 8/20!

Registration for Fall Ball is now open! Follow the Registration link at the top of the webpage to register.

Fall Ball for Land Park Pacific Little League has two components.
One is just “Sandlot” games on Sundays. Games will begin on or about Sept. 25 and go through Oct. 30. We will play games amongst our teams as well as games against Pocket and other leagues, as scheduling permits.

The other is the Sandlot games AND some basic skills training geared towards those kids moving up a division. The Sandlot games will have almost unlimited space. However, the skills training will have limited availability so those who sign up first will be given priority. We will attempt to accommodate those who land on the waitlist but cannot guarantee anything once the space is full. Cost is $70 for AA and $85 for AAA and Majors.

The Skills Training will be as follows:

AA (kids who are 6 or 7 years old on August 31, 2022, and plan on playing in the AA Division next year)
Instruction at McClatchy High School for batting and pitching on Thursdays from 5pm to 645pm, beginning Sept. 15, ending Oct. 6. The clinic will help kids learn sound fundamental techniques for pitching and hitting so that their first year of AA will be a good one and that they carry good habits forward. Cost $125.

AAA (kids who are 8 or 9 on August 31, 2022)
Instruction will take place on Dooley Field #2 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm, beginning Sept. 12, ending Oct. 5. Training will be provided by McClatchy baseball coaches and former LPPLL players now playing for McClatchy and will cover a wide range of drills to improve defensive and offensive skills to ensure a solid base of skills for the spring baseball season. Cost $175.

Majors (kids who are 10 or 11 on August 31, 2022)
Instruction will take place on Dooley Field #1 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5pm to 7pm, beginning Sept. 12, ending Oct. 5. Training will be provided by McClatchy baseball head coach Mike de Necochea and his staff, and will cover a wide range of drills to improve defensive and offensive mechanics to prepare kids for the spring baseball season. Cost $175.

Skills training will include the ability to play in the Sandlot games, and cannot be separated out from them. The Skills Training fees provide a good source of funding for the McClatchy Baseball program so there are no multiple child discounts. If you have any questions, or want to manage a Sandlot team, please email our Fall Ball Coordinator, Kai Hermann, at FallBall@LPPLL.com

Thank you!
